Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew up in Mexico in a family who loved music. Her early years were shaped by the classical music of her parents, boleros as well as the more traditional romantic, ranchero and romance ballads. Ana has a passion for tangos, opera, and every form of dramatic performances. Ana began to learn how to play the piano and sing at an early age with her mother. She was given more formal training in singing when she was 16 years old under the famous Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. In the School of Music of Guadalajara University and the School of Sacred Music of Toluca in Mexico furthered her education in music. While a student, and when she was a professional young in Mexico City and Guadalajara she sang with several chamber groups and choirs. After 2000, she emigrated to in the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Later, in 2007, she returned to her new home in Southern California. She has performed solo Latin American music for private occasions and is a part of Ensemble XXI in Redlands. In addition to being an active performer as well as an instructor the passion for music and art keeps her active in a variety of different projects. Ana was a member of the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is presently a professor at the Performance Loft. Ana is hoping that, with her performance of Latin American traditional songs, that she will inspire a love, especially among the younger generation to keep this tradition alive.
